How It Works
A Simple Way to Participate, Share Your Thoughts, and Get Paid
At Virtual Jury Box, you can be part of online research that helps lawyers prepare their cases. You’ll watch real legal scenarios, discuss your opinions with others, and get paid for your time — all from your computer.
What You’ll Need to Participate
- A computer or laptop with a webcam and microphone
- A quiet space where you can participate without interruptions
- A reliable internet connection
- A willingness to share your honest opinions respectfully
Step 1: Sign Up
Start by completing our short sign-up form. We’ll ask for basic details like your location, age range, and occupation. This information helps us match you with studies that reflect your local jury pool.
You only need to sign up once to be added to our secure database.
Step 2: Get Invited to a Session
When a new study fits your background, you’ll receive an email invitation with:
- The topic of the case
- The date and time of the session
- The length of the session
- The payment amount
You can choose whether to accept or decline each invitation — there’s no obligation.
Step 3: Join a Live Online Session
Sessions are conducted via Zoom in a secure, private environment. Before it begins, you’ll receive a link, detailed instructions on what to expect, and nondisclosure agreement (NDA) to sign.
During the session, you’ll:
- Watch short video presentations or hear summaries of both sides of a case
- Answer questions and share your opinions
- Discuss what you found convincing or unclear
- Participate in small-group deliberations led by a trained moderator
There are no right or wrong answers. We simply want your honest reactions.
Step 4: Get Paid
After you complete your session, you’ll receive electronic payment (typically within 2–3 business days).
You’ll know the payment amount before you agree to participate.
